You can be busy – or not. It's your vacation - you decide! The activities and amenities of Anderson Island have much to offer for your get-away.
Kayaking – Explore approximately fifteen miles of shoreline, bays and coves or make a crossing to
Hiking – Try a relaxing one mile nature hike on the Jane Cammon Trail, or a longer hike to Andy’s
Lakes* – Swimming, fishing, paddling, motor boating, and usage of personal watercraft are available on the two fresh water lakes (regulations apply). Parks* – There are several beautiful parks on the island, some with play equipment, tennis courts, swim beaches, volley ball, picnic facilities, and restrooms. Golf* – Beautifully maintained par three, 9 hole course. Paved cart paths. Club and cart rentals available. Geocashing - Go on line, download coordinates to your GPS or written clues, and explore the island, looking for treasures. There are several geocashes on the island, just waiting to be discovered. Restaurants – The Riviera Lakeshore Restaurant is a full service facility, open daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Winter days and hours are limited. Check for availability. There is a deli at the Island General Store and a few breakfast items, snacks, and of course espresso drinks available at the Nisqually Coffee Café.
R&R – Catch up on your reading, take a nap, enjoy the sounds of nature and the quiet peacefulness that will surround you. Watch for deer, raccoons, squirrels, pilliated woodpeckers, eagles and other birds. At night go outside and look up at the millions of stars overhead. The island is truly a retreat from the pressures and hectic lifestyle of the city.
*The Riviera Community provides some of the amenities listed for members and guests only. As a guest of Sweet Woodruff B&B you are permitted to utilize facilities. Any usage fees (i.e. boat launch) are the resposibility of the guest.
Marina* – A salt water marina is located on the east side of the island with picnic shelter and restrooms.
Bicycling – Country roads, quiet neighborhoods, little traffic. Many areas have hills, but there are some flatter areas as well.
